Segregation of personnel on workboats: COVID-19 challenge

The Workboat Association and G+ members (offshore windfarms) are looking for innovative solutions to solve their COVID-19 challenge concerning reduced carrying capacity on workboats.

What's the innovation challenge?

The KTN-iX competition is supporting the Workboat Association and G+ members (offshore windfarms) to identify innovative solutions to solve their coronavirus (COVID-19) challenge.

Currently workboats are severely limited in their carrying capacity due to COVID-19 distancing restrictions. Workboat Association and G+ members are looking for solutions to increase the carrying capacity of workboats.

Solutions should be:

  • Fully deployable for prototype testing within 1-2 months of competition win.
  • Fully deployable commercially within three months

The winning businesses in this competition will be given a commercial opportunity to deliver their solution and receive support from the KTN, ORE Catapult and the wider InnovateUK network.
